As an integral role within the business, the Rooms Division Manager will lead all aspects of the Rooms Division to ensure the daily operation of the hotel provides a high level of guest service, meeting and exceeding the strategic plans and goals.

Our Rooms Division Manager will ensure that Room Division operations are run in a smooth, efficient manner in line with guest expectations to ensure customer satisfaction and be accountable for overall performance of the teams including guest experience, workforce planning (overseeing rostering) and departmental profit delivery.

Key Responsibilities of the Rooms Division Manager:

- Ensures the smooth running of the rooms division department, where all aspects of the guest experience are delivered to the highest levels.

- Works proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries and problem resolution.

- Develops and implements plans where Rooms division initiatives & hotel targets are achieved.

- Oversees overall day-to-day Rooms as delegated by the General Manager.

- Participates in the development of short-term and long-term financial and operational plans for the hotel which support the overall objectives of the Company.

- Assists General Manager with the execution of operational activities, producing results that meet or exceed the hotel’s business plan.

- Assists General Manager with the monitoring of the performance of the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction systems and financial reports. Suggests and implements corrective actions.

- Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Suggests and implements corrective actions.

- Creates an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction. Ensures proper handling of guest complaints.

- Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the Rooms department.

- Supervises and motivates designated employees; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, training programs, and applicable laws.

- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.

- Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required.

- To have managed one or more hotel departments for 3+ years in a similar environment,

- A good all-rounder to cover all areas of Reception including Nights team, Reservations and Housekeeping,

- Proven experience in rooms division with strong problem-solving capabilities,

- Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style,

- Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry,

- Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations,

- Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy,

- Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms,

- Strong communication skills,

- Proven track record with success at training and implementation of process and audit,

- Experience in attracting, developing, mentoring, coaching, and retaining great talent,

- Thorough knowledge of statutory regulations ensuring the business is always operated within the law,

- Good understanding of systems to support driving results – Opera.
